Counselling in Johor Bahru: what to expect from your first session
August 24, 2026
A practical guide to booking counselling in Johor Bahru — how the first session works, what it costs, and how to choose between in-person JB appointments and online sessions.
Booking counselling for the first time in Johor Bahru can feel like a big step, so it helps to know exactly what happens.
Before the session
When you enquire, we ask a few short questions about what you are hoping to work on and whether you prefer to meet in person in Johor Bahru or online. We then suggest a counsellor and a few available times. Nothing you share at this stage is a commitment.
The first session
The first appointment usually runs 50 to 60 minutes. Most of it is spent understanding your situation: what is happening now, how long it has been going on, and what you would like to be different. Your counsellor will also explain confidentiality and how many sessions people typically find useful.
In person in JB, or online
Our practice is based in Johor Bahru and we see clients from across JB, including Bukit Indah, Taman Molek, Permas Jaya, Tebrau, Skudai and Iskandar Puteri. Online video sessions are available across Malaysia and Singapore, which many working professionals and cross-border commuters prefer.
Fees and frequency
Fees depend on the session type and counsellor, and we confirm the exact fee before you book. Individual counselling usually starts weekly or fortnightly, then spaces out as things improve.
If you are ready, send an enquiry and we will reply with available times for counselling in Johor Bahru.
